# EP01 Presenter Directive — Animated Kirk, Entertainment-Delivered

**Episode:** S1_repub_socialism / EP01 "The Equity-Holder State"
**Script:** EP01_master_script.md (11 segments, ~2,669 spoken words, ~14.5 min, receipts-gate PASS)
**Doctrine:** ENTERTAINMENT_DOCTRINE.md — the document is the star, the host is the guide, rhythm is claim → receipt → verdict every ~90s.

This file is the production prompt for animating the presenter (Kirk) into EP01 so the delivery is entertaining, not just educational. The host is a tour guide, not a star: SMALL frame, placed BESIDE the documents, points, reacts, leans in, breaks the fourth wall. He is never the canvas — the receipts are.

---

## Host delivery model (applies to every segment)

- **Placement:** right-hand framed panel (~35% width), never covering the document. The receipt/ledger/chart stays on the main canvas.
- **THE SPIN** (desaturated, muffled/reverb audio): host tone is dry, almost amused, letting the sell talk itself into a corner. Slow, deliberate.
- **THE RECEIPT** (crisp, dry audio, sharp color): host gets precise, eyes on the document, points at the line. This is where he leans in.
- **THE VERDICT** (the stamp): one hard beat of silence after the line lands, then the verdict stamp. Don't fill the beat.
- **Cliffhanger cadence:** every segment ends on a forward-lean toward camera and a "but here's what they left out" energy. The lean is the hook.
- **Fourth wall:** when the script says "Pause here. Read this yourself," the host stops, gestures at the screen, and goes quiet for the beat. Do not ad-lib over it.
- **Humor through contrast (supporting):** one dry beat per act max, tied to evidence, tight. e.g. "That's a portfolio." delivered flat. No mugging.

## Per-segment presenter plan

| # | Time | Segment | What's on screen | Host delivery (animated Kirk) |
|---|------|---------|------------------|-------------------------------|
| 0 | 00:00–01:15 | COLD OPEN: Claim vs Cut | BBC $110bn vs Reuters $8.5B, red-penned, side by side | Cold-open energy. No intro. Point at the big number, then the small one. On "Pause here. Read both yourself" — gesture at screen, hold the beat. This IS the 9:16 hook. |
| 1 | 01:15–02:35 | THE SPIN | Desaturated montage, SPIN stamps with a thud | Dry, almost amused. On "Just, just, just" — a slow head tilt, let it breathe. The frame is the product; sell the frame's slickness while the audio sounds slightly off. |
| 2 | 02:35–04:00 | THE RECEIPT: DOGE | Reuters "secretive unit" quote slides in; $110bn vs $8.5B pulse | Crisp. Point at "secretive unit operating in the public eye." On "$8.5 billion" tap the small number. Precise, not theatrical. |
| 3 | 04:00–05:25 | THE VERDICT: Precedent | VERDICT stamps; TARP About page, $700B / $443.5B highlighted in sequence | Lean in on "the repayment is the wrong part — it was the guarantee." This is the thesis turn. Weight, slower pace. End on "the guarantee is back." |
| 4 | 05:25–06:55 | THE SPIN: Shareholder | Flowchart animates TAXPAYER→GOV→EQUITY→PROFIT; host small beside it | The tour-guide moment. Point at each arrow as it draws. Name the list (Trilogy, Lithium Americas, MP Materials) pointing to each. On "That's a pattern" — direct to camera. |
| 5 | 06:55–08:20 | THE RECEIPT: Portfolio | CNBC list scrolls like a ticker; each company chimes in, red-circle stake | Rapid but readable. Let the ticker do the work; host just calls the names cleanly. On "That's a portfolio" — the one dry beat, flat, then move on. |
| 6 | 08:20–09:50 | THE RECEIPT: Deficit & Dividend | CBO CSV scroll one side; Truth Social $2,000 post slides in other | Serious. "a tariff is a bill presented to you at the checkout line" — slow, direct. This is the kitchen-table line; no flourish. |
| 7 | 09:50–11:10 | THE VERDICT: The Gap | Split: $309.2B left / $600B right; scale tips hard right | The money punch. Point at $309B, then $600B. "The math does not close. The gap is not a rounding error. The gap is the point." Hard lean into camera on "the point." |
| 8 | 11:10–12:35 | THE STEELMAN | SPIN softens; Reason + National Review side by side; host leans in, nodding | Change the register entirely — respectful, not mocking. "That's a real argument. It deserves a real answer. Not a dismissal. An answer." This is credibility; play it straight. |
| 9 | 12:35–13:50 | THE REBUTTAL: Intent vs Effect | VERDICT stamps; INTENT / EFFECT split, effect side glows hotter | The counter-punch. Cato/de Rugy quote gets pointed at, line by line: "ownership and decision making in the same collective hands." Then the Stephens counterfactual. Confident, not smug. End on "The label is immaterial. The mechanism is not." |
| 10 | 13:50–15:00 | RECEIPT WALL | Every doc flies into a 3x3 grid, each stamped TRUE; music stops | The roll call. Host reads the wall doc by doc, each landing a "TRUE." Crisp, rhythmic, final. The EP02 tease ("open the ledger company by company") is a forward lean + "I'll see you in the next one." |

## Production wiring (what the prompt feeds)

- **Presenter source:** animated Kirk via `presenter_layer.make_insert(presenter="kirk", text=<segment spoken text>, ...)`.
  - If a MuseTalk video ref is found → lipsynced talking-head.
  - If only a still (cutout PNG / portrait) → Ken Burns talking-card over the OmniVoice narration.
  - A missing Kirk reference is a hard REFUSAL (no stock face substitution, ever).
- **Voice:** OmniVoice `kirk` voice on :8444. TTS drives the length; cards/clip -t derives from narration.
- **Composite:** `smm_orchestrator.py` Stage 4 interleaves presenter clips as the right panel beside the receipt cards, narration as the continuous audio bed. Wired hook/close inserts land the cold-open at t=0 and the outro at the close.
- **Gate:** receipts_gate.py must pass BEFORE render. EP01 currently PASSes. If the prompt edits the script's factual claims, re-run the gate and keep it green.

## Run commands

Full animated episode (presenter included):

```
python C:\DandyDon\smm\smm_orchestrator.py --show S1_repub_socialism --ep EP01
```

(The runner is resumable. Script changed since the last render — TTS and the visual manifest will re-generate to match the new narration; cached presenter clips persist unless the underlying block changes.)

With live receipt URL probing (slower, network-gated):

```
python C:\DandyDon\smm\smm_orchestrator.py --show S1_repub_socialism --ep EP01 --network-gate
```

---

## Non-negotiables

- Every spoken claim keeps its [L1: S1_repub_socialism/factbase.md:NN] tag and the gate stays green.
- The dead claims stay dead: no "75% clause," no "America's Dividend," no "$3,000 check."
- The host never talks over a receipt's stamp beat.
- If a presenter insert fails to animate, the episode composites WITHOUT it rather than shipping a blank — but Kirk is told which inserts failed, by name.
