**Length target:** 12–15 min
**Status:** Outlined — narration not yet written

## Premise
*Dominion Voting Systems v. Fox News Network* (2023) is the single largest documented receipt that the pipeline described in Episode 1 is real, intentional, and known to be false by the people running it. The $787.5 million settlement is the headline. The **depositions and internal texts are the story**. This episode reads Fox's own executives, hosts, and producers in their own words — private messages that contradict, word for word, what they were saying on air the same day.

## Why this episode exists
Episodes 1 and 2 make the structural argument. Episode 3 lands the proof. No inference required. No "it appears that." The audience hears Tucker Carlson text "I hate him passionately" about the President his show was praising that night. The distance between private knowledge and public presentation is the despinning. It's the cleanest receipt in the entire series.

## The hook (cold open, ≤15 sec)
> "A Fox News host wrote 'I hate him passionately' about the man his show was defending that hour. A Fox executive wrote 'this is NOT real' about a claim the network aired 30 minutes later. Tonight — Fox's own texts, read aloud."

*Receipts: Dominion exhibits — Carlson texts, Murdoch deposition, Ingraham texts. All public, all filed in court.*

## Segment contract

| `PRESENTER` | Sasha names the pattern: "They knew. Read the dates. They knew, and they aired it anyway. Not bias. Not opinion. A choice." | 6:30–7:15 | ✅ Sasha to camera |
| `NARRATOR` | **The texts, Part 2 — the executives:** Murdoch deposition ("it is not red or blue, it is green"), Suzanne Scott, the fact-checking internal alarm that was silenced. | 7:15–10:00 | — |
| `NARRATOR` | **The settlement:** $787.5M, the last-minute deal, what Fox admitted (and what it didn't), the Smartmatic case still pending. | 10:00–12:30 | — |
| `CLOSE` | Resolve + CTA: "The texts named the hosts. But who are these people, really? Next episode — The Hosts." | 12:30–13:15 | ✅ Sasha to camera |

## Receipts to gather before script
- Dominion exhibits: Carlson text thread (Dominion filing, Feb 2023)
- Murdoch deposition transcript excerpts
- Hannity/Ingraham internal messages (Dominion exhibits)
- Settlement announcement (April 18, 2023) + Judge Davis's summary judgment ruling
- Smartmatic v. Fox — status at script stage

## Production notes
- VST visuals: text-message bubble renders with date stamps, deposition-page highlights, side-by-side same-day comparisons.
- The on-screen text must match the filed exhibits verbatim. No paraphrasing. This is the episode where that standard is non-negotiable.
- Per-episode receipt: `C:/DandyDon/dandydon/receipts/<date>/episode_fox_news_the_lawsuit.json`
