Doug Chapin built the University of Minnesota Humphrey School's certificate program in election administration. Before that, he led the elections team at The Pew Charitable Trusts and founded electionline. He told St. Cloud LIVE he "really just wanted to be a retired election geek." Then, he says, the January 6 pardons changed his mind. Now the DFL-endorsed first-time candidate from Hanover is running against Republican incumbent Tom Emmer in Minnesota's 6th District. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, and early voting is open.
